India vs West Indies 1st Test: Second day

New Delhi: Statistical highlights from the second day of the first Test match between India and West Indies at New Delhi.
# Pragyan Ojha (6/72) has produced a career-best, obliterating the four for 107 against New Zealand at Ahmedabad in November 2010.

# Ojha's first five-wicket haul in Tests is his 14th in first-class cricket.

# Ojha's aforesaid figures are the best by an Indian bowler against West Indies at the Feroz Shah Kotla, obliterating the 6 for 77 by Kapil Dev in 1983-84.

# Ojha's excellent figures are the second best by an Indian left-arm bowler at Feroz Shah Kotla, next only to the 8 for 52 by Vinoo Mankad against Pakistan in October 1952.

# The top two bowling figures in an innings by left-arm bowlers at this venue are - 8 for 52 by Vinoo Mankad (as above) and 7 for 46 by John Lever for England in December 1976. 

# As a batsman, Darren Sammy is averaging 11.85 against India (83 in seven innings), his highest being 25 at Kingston in June this year.  His overall Test average is 16.80 - 521 in 19 Tests.

# Shivnarine Chanderpaul (118) is averaging 69.28 against India - 1940 runs in 22 Tests, including seven hundreds and ten fifties.

# In India, Chanderpaul is averaging 65.50 - 393 in eight innings (five Tests), including two hundreds and one fifty.

# Chanderpaul has now recorded 60 centuries and 100 fifties in first-class cricket, aggregating 20,188 (ave.55.00) in 276 matches.

# For the first time in an innings at Feroz Shah Kotla, five LBW dismissals have been recorded.

# For the fourth time, five or more lbw dismissals have been recorded in West Indies' innings against India in a Test match.  In West Indies' first innings of 443 at Mohali in December 1994, six lbw dismissals were recorded.

# Ishant Sharma has bagged 37 wickets in 9 Tests at an average of 33.34 in 2011 - the second highest tally this year, next only to Saeed Ajmal (40).
