Candidates take admission in the B.Ed. Regular Course for the Session 2013-14 can apply for B.Ed. Regular Course in the first weak of July 2013. Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, Established by the State Legislature Act 9 of 2003 is going to conduct the centrlized Counselling for admissions in the Education Colleges situated in the State of Haryana. The admission to B.Ed. Regular Course in Haryana are made through the Centralized Counselling process. One of the Universities situated in Haryana is given responsibility for these admissions. For this session Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, is going to conduct this process. The University has issued a Notification in this regard to constitute a  Admission/Counseling Committee vide no. CDLU/CB/13/1130-45 Dated 22.05.2013.

ADMISSION NOTICE
Applications are invited for filling up of the left over vacant seats for the following Programmes through physical Counselling.

A.     M. Tech. Programmes: Material Science & Nano Technology, Electrical Engg. (Power Systems), Electronics & Communication Engg., Mechanical Engg., Computer Science & Engg., Bio-Medical Engg., Electrical Engg. (I&C), Energy Studies & Environmental Management, Bio-Technology, Chemical Engg.
Admissions to M. Tech. Programmes will be made first on the basis of valid GATE score & then on the basis of valid score in merit list of Entrance Test (HCPET-2013). If seats still remain vacant, those will be filled through the academic merit of the qualifying examination.
Note : For eligibility conditions, consult Prospectus 2013 (HCPET-2013)

B.      Architecture (PG) Programmes: Master of Construction & Real Estate Management, Master of Architecture (Sustainable Architecture), Master of Urban and Rural Planning. Admissions to these above PG Courses will be made on the basis of academic merit.

C.    M. A. English: Admissions will be made on the basis of academic merit.
D.    M. B. A. (5 Year Integrated Programme)
E.    MHA (Two year regular course)
Note: For the Programmes B, C, D and E as mentioned above, consult Admission Brochure 2013 for eligibility conditions. Further, admissions to these programmes will be made on academic merit of the qualifying examination. For MHA admissions guidelines given in the Admission Brochure 2013 will be followed.
The candidates desirous of seeking admission to the above programmes shall apply on the prescribed application form (relevant to the programme) available on University Website www.dcrustm.org.
 The filled up application form (Separate for each programme to which admission is being sought)
must reach the University by 08/08/2013 up to 05.00 PM. Postal/courier delay shall not be the
responsibility of the university. The application is to be sent in the name of Registrar, Deenbandhu
Chhotu Ram University of Science & Technology, Murthal (Sonepat). The filled application form
 must accompany with a processing fee of Rs. 500/- (Rs. 125/- for SC Candidates of Haryana) (non-refundable) in the form of Bank Draft drawn in favour of Registrar, Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science & Technology, Murthal (Sonepat) payable at SBI, Murthal Branch Code 14374.

Physical Chemistry
Theory of Gases: Kinetic theory of gases. Van der Waals equation and applications, Maxwell-
Boltzmann distribution law, critical phenomena.

Chemical Thermodynamics: Reversible and irreversible processes, First law and its application toideal and nonideal gases, Thermochemistry, Second law, Entropy and free energy, Criteria for
spontaneity. Third law and its application.

Chemical and Phase Equilibria: Law of mass action, Kp , Kc, Kx and Kn , Effect of temperatureon K, Ionic equilibria in solutions, pH and buffer solutions, Hydrolysis, Solubility product,Clausius-Clapeyron Equation, Phase equilibria–Phase rule and its application to one-component andtwo-component systems, Colligative properties.

Electrochemistry: Conductance and its applications, Transport number, Galvanic cells, EMF andFree energy, Concentration cells with and without transport. Conductometric and potentiometrictitration.

Chemical Kinetics: Reactions of zero, 1st, 2nd and 3rd order, Arrhenius equation, Collision theory,Theory of absolute reaction rate, Enzyme kinetics.

Quantum Mechanics: Black-body radiation, Plank’s radiation law, photoelectric effect, heat
capacity of solids, Compton effect, Schrodinger Equation, wave function and its significance,
42 postulates of quantum mechanics, quantum mechanical operators, commutation relations, Role ofoperators in quantum mechanics, Particle in one dimensional box.

Molecular Spectroscopy: Electromagnetic radiation, regions of spectrum, basic features of
spectroscopy, statement of Born-oppenheimer approximation, Degrees of freedom. Elementary ideaof Rotational (rigid rotor), Vibrational (harmonic & anharmonic oscillator) and Raman Spectra ofsimple diatomic molecules.

Inorganic Chemistry
Atomic Structure: Fundamental particles. Bohr's theory of hydrogen atom, Wave-particle duality,Uncertainty principles, Schrodinger's wave equation, Quantum numbers, shapes of orbitals, Hund's rule and Pauli's exclusion principle.

Periodic Properties: Periodic classification of elements and periodicity in properties, Atomic and ionic radii, ionization energy, electron affinity and electronegativity – definition, methods of
determination or evaluation, trends in periodic table (in s & p block elements).





Chemical Bonding and Shapes of Compounds: Types of bonding, Valence Bond Theory and
Molecular Orbital theory of diatomic molecules, VSEPR theory and shapes of molecules,
hybridization, dipole moment.

Solid State: Ionic structures (NaCl, CsCl, ZnS (Zinc Blende), CaF2, diamond, graphite etc.) radius ratio rule, lattice defects, lattice energy and Born-Haber cycle.

Hard and Soft Acids and Bases: Classification of acids and bases as hard and soft. Pearson's
HSAB concept, acid-base strength and hardness and softness, Symbiosis,Liquid NH3 as nonaquesous solvent.

Main Group Elements (s and p blocks): Chemistry with emphasis on group relationship and
gradation in properties, structure of electron deficient compounds of main group elements and
application of main group elements (s & p-block including noble gases).

Chemistry of d & f-block elements: Characteristics of 3d elements, oxide, hydroxide and salts of first row transition metals, General properties of lanthanides and actinides.

Coordination Chemistry: Nomenclature and stereochemistry, VB and Crystal Field theoretical
approaches for structure & bonding, colour (electronic spectra) and magnetic properties of
transition metal complexes. Thermodynamic and Kinetic Aspects of Metal Complexes

Organometallic Chemistry: Definition, nomenclature and classification of organometallic
compounds. Preparation, properties, bonding and applications of alkyls and aryls of Li, AI, Hg, Sn and Ti, metal-ethylenic complexes and homogeneous hydrogenation, mononuclear carbonyls and the nature of bonding in metal carbonyls. Organomagnesium compounds: the Grignard reagents - formation, structure and chemical reactions. Organozinc compounds: formation and chemical reactions.

Bioinorganic Chemistry: Essential and trace elements in biological processes, metallo-porphyrins with special reference to haemoglobin and myoglobin. Biological role of alkali and alkaline earth metal ions with special reference to Ca2+. Nitrogen Fixation.

Qualitative and quantitative Analysis: Basic theory of volumetric titrations (acid-base, redox,
complexometric, precipitation), Salt analysis (detection of acid and basic radicals)

Organic Chemistry
Basic Concepts in Organic Chemistry and Stereochemistry : Isomerism and nomenclature,
electronic ( resonance and inductive ) effects. Optical isomerism in compounds containing one and two asymmetric centers, designation of absolute configuration, conformations of cyclohexanes.




Organic Reaction Mechanism and Synthetic Applications: Methods of preparation and reactions of alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, arenes and their simple functional derivatives, alcohols, ethers , phenols, aldehydes , ketones, carboxylic acid and carboxylic acid derivatives. Mechanism and synthetic applications of electrophilic aromatic substitution. Stereochemistry and mechanism of aliphatic nucleophilic substitution and elimination reactions.Diels – Alder reactions, Wittig 43 Reactions, Mechanism of aldol condensation, Claisen condensation, esterification and ester hydrolysis, Cannizzaro reaction, benzoin condensation. Perkin reaction, Claisen rearrangement, Beckmann rearrangement and Wagner – Meerwein rearrangement.

Introduction to the following classes of compounds – Carbohydrates, Amino Acids, Peptides,
Proteins and Nucleic Acids, Fats, Oils and Detergents

Heterocyclic Chemistry : Furans, thiophenes, pyrrols and pyridines.

Qualitative Organic Analysis : Functional group interconversions, structural problems using
chemical reactions, identification of functional groups by chemical tests. Spectroscopy-
IR,NMR,UV.

  • All candidates who have applied for HCPET – 2013, for admission to M.E./M.Tech. have been allotted an Application no. and Password. Both have been sent to their registered mobile no. and email ID also. Candidates should keep them secured to avoid any misuse.
  • In case of non receipt of the same or for any technical query related to the software, candidate can contact the helpline 09602455429 (During office hours).
  • The candidate should visit the website http://dcrustm.eadmissions.net or http://dcrustm.ac.in/
  • Then candidate should Login using the Application no. and password.
  • The details filled by the candidate in the manual application will be displayed. Candidate should check all fields properly and EDIT the incorrect fields. He / she should also UPDATE the blank fields which are mandatory for counselling. Since the candidate has logged in using his / her own Application no. and Password so he / she shall be solely responsible for the changes. CORRECTIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED BY THIS ONLINE PROCESS ONLY.
  • Group / Cluster code will not be edit able. If you find any correction in these fields then contact the Dean, Academic Affairs on Phone No. 0130-2484024
  • Application will not be submitted unless all mandatory fields are filled. The mandatory fields will be marked with a Red Star if left blank while submitting.
  • After submitting the application, the candidate will be directed to the Admit card download / Application printing page.
  • Candidate can save the Admit card in .pdf format and print it.
  • Roll no. are generated for all candidates whether having valid GATE score or not. Valid GATE scorers are not required to appear in the entrance exam.
  • In case the candidate does not want to Edit / Update the application at this stage then he / she can directly download the Admit Card by pressing the button at the bottom of the page, “ I will Edit the application later but before 17-7-13 . Download my Admit Card now. ” In this case the Admit card can be downloaded directly. BUT SUCH CANDIDATES HAVE TO VISIT THE WEBSITE AGAIN AND EDIT / UPDATE THE APPLICATION UPTO 17-7-13 FAILING WHICH HE / SHE WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR COUNSELLING.
